Recommendations for a reliable furnace repair? It's freezing in Kitchener!

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some help. My furnace has been acting up for the past two days—it starts for a few minutes, makes a weird rattling sound, and then just shuts down completely. I’ve tried changing the filter and checking the vents, but nothing seems to work. With the temperatures dropping tonight, I’m getting pretty worried about the house getting too cold for the kids. I’ve had some bad experiences with contractors in the past who show up late or add a bunch of "hidden fees" to the final bill that weren't mentioned at the start. Does anyone know a local pro who is actually honest and knows what they’re doing? I don't mind paying for quality work, but I just want someone who will give me a straight answer about whether this can be fixed or if I’m looking at a bigger problem. Any suggestions for someone reliable in the Kitchener-Waterloo area would be a huge lifesaver right now!

That rattling sound is definitely stressful—I had a similar scare last year when our blower motor started failing. It’s hard to find someone you can trust on short notice, but I highly recommend this hvac contractor Kitchener https://superiorhvacservice.ca/kitchener/ as they really helped us out of a jam. I called them on a Tuesday morning and they had a technician at my door by the afternoon.

The guy was great; he actually took the time to explain that the rattle was just a loose component and a worn belt, rather than trying to convince me I needed a whole new system. He was very professional, wore floor protectors in the house, and the price was exactly what he quoted me before starting the work. It’s rare to find that kind of transparency these days. They also offer a full range of services for AC and plumbing, so they’re good to have in your contacts for any home emergency. Definitely give them a call, they are very responsive to local residents!
